Sure, I have a colleague who uses it intensively.
But this use is not so frequent: you need to work in a field
where formal calculus is efficient.
Personnally I rather need numerical algorithms which would
no be dealt with formal calculation. I spoke about matlab code,
which is numeric in a very large extent
(and I mostly discussed the point of math mode import in Latex end LyX,
which remnains an issue by itself).
