lib/configure (the script which does the detection) is supposed to do
it automatically. Are you sure that the files here have the right
permissions?
In order to ddo some debuging, do the following:
cd .lyx
<path of lyx datafiles>/configure --keep-temps
Then send me the wrap_config.log file.
