Quoting source code in Book

Hi,

        I have greped my way through the archives and been unable to come
across the answer to a simple problem that I have.  I am writing in "Book"
and want to quote sections of source code.

        Unlike previous requestors, I don't want to colourise the text in
any way or number the lines - just be able to type them in line by line and
be able to insert blank lines between sections and functions.

        Any help would be much appreciated.
