Yast1 installed it? This was via the package selection/installation
procedure? If you installed it from a SuSE cd it should have said there
were unresolved dependencies and asked if you wanted to install xforms as
well. You could try running Yast1 again and finding and installing the
xforms library (either called xforms or bxforms).
Or uninstall lyx and then try reinstalling it again but be sure to check
that it tries to install xforms.

This means you need to get and install the xforms library.
SuSE should ship with it IIRC. Although it probably won't be 0.89.
There is a slim possibility that SuSE stuffed up and shipped a lyx binary
rpm that relies on xforms-0.89 while shipping xforms-0.88. If this is the
case you'll probably need to get xforms-0.89 from the xforms ftp site
or it might be quicker to just uninstall lyx and rebuild lyx from the
source rpm (.src.rpm).

Oh boy. One of those common fatal mistakes, upgrading your system before
all your important deadlines have been met ;-)
