advise/help!
I tried to install lyx1.1.6fix1 on a SuSE 7.1
Sytem. Starting with rpms you
can get on the net. For installing I had to switch off the dependency check.
So far everything worked fine but my first experience with documents
containing eps-pictures dissapointed me. Used to the speed of a lyx1.1.5fix1
that comes with SuSE 7.1 it went terrible slow with unacceptable building
times for the document with lyx1.1.6fix1.

I really would like to use the new release
1.1.6fix1 because of its convenient
handling and to be some how up to date.
Can anyone, if available, tell me how he/she mastered the cliffs of installing
a stabile and fast lyx1.1.6fix1-system on SuSE 7.1. I have already
tried to compile something with the available tar-balls but ran into problems
with the xform libaries to often. (Perhaps I am unable to understand the
installing instructions but my skills in compiling and things like that are
very very low.)
Pherhaps someone posted a safe "installing-walk-through" somewhere ...
