This is what I got. Maybe it should be obvious what to do, but its mostly gibberish to me. Hal Warning: Document class not available If it helps I am also running 10.10 and have had similar problems where none of my document classes are available. When I upgraded to Yosemite I also updated my MacTeX distribution from 2013 to 2014 so the problem might have less to do with OS X 10.10 and more to do with updating TeX. I haven’t had a lot of time yet to try and diagnose the problem but I have tried opening up LyX and doing a rebuild as well as ensuring that the classes are available in my TeX folder. I
