Sorry for beeing unclear.
Here an example:
Author 1 Title 1 year 1999
Author 1 Title 1 year 1999
Author 2 Title 2 year 2000
should become
Author 1 Title 1 year 1999
Author 2 Title 2 year 2000

I wouldn'd mind to switch to another program for this purpose or use

I am not quite certain what you mean. But if you do not want the same
author's name to be repeated in several subsequent entries of your
bibliography then this is how to achieve just that.
I have openSUSE 13.2 / KDE and use Kbibtex as my bibliographical
database.
The first screen-shot uses biblatex, style oscola.
The second uses biblatex, style chicago.
Are you using MS Windows?
