Just a note about categories: they are used when one transforms an equation into an eqnarray using Ctrl-Return. The code finds the first relation and breaks the equation apart at this point.

As for ctrl+shift+arrows, I find them useful to select entire insets
quickly.

Why should they be better than Ctrl-A or Shift-end?

I really think that the shifted and non shifted functions should coincide.
