You get the German version because there is one in that language and
you use German GUI.
There is of course an English version too. Either change your GUI to
English, or
open the file directly under

$ lyx /usr/share/lyx/examples/beamer.lyx
/usr/share/lyx/examples/beamer.lyx: Permission denied

thanks, but my beamer file is still in German, although I have
Documents> settings> language > English(USA)
and tools > unser interface > language > English
What do I miss?
