It is a real nuisance, bein gunable to understand what is meant by this.

Quoting the whole Digest without even referring what helped makes no
sense.

That is a not that uncommon LaTeX issue.

Upgrade to the latest LyX and TeX, update the latter to current and run
everything again.

Then I would suggest you make a Minimal Working Example (MWE), ie remove
EVERYTHING which does not produce contribute to the error (including in
the preamble, settings and the like).

That often already allows one to find and correct the issue.

If not export it to TeX and und PDFLaTeX or LUALaTeX on it and see where
in the MWE that error is triggered. Reduce that even further until you
have a bare bones TeX file which reproduces the issue.

Or post the MWE (LyX file) and the image here so one can have a look if
it it sows same behavior on different systems.

Can't you just run this particular graphic (throw in a copy everything
else away) and see what is causing the error?

Hi,

I tried to open a document (attached) created with LyX 2.4 current
master (on a Mac) with LyX 2.4 alpha3 (on Mac and Windows).
Unfortunately, I got an error message and cannot work on the document.
Does someone know what might be causing this?

All the best,
Daniel

No problems here, besides missing used module 'sticker'.

Hi all,

I'm making a layout file, based on Document Class "Book (Standard Class
with Extra Font Sizes)". After investigation on my Void Linux computer
with TeXLive, I found that
/usr/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/extsizes/extbook.cls
provides class "extbook" and has code for sizes 8,9,10,12,14,17 and 20.
Indeed, it works when I make a document with it as the document class.

But when I derive a class called mm_create from it, using the following
lines at the top of the layout file:

#% Do not delete the line below; configure depends on this
# \DeclareLaTeXClass[extbook]{mm_create}

and then use mm_create.layout as my local layout, the base size on my
document->settings->fonts only lists default, 10, 11 and 12.

I repeatedly used texhash, configure.py and restarted LyX, all to no
avail. I even tried manually using Tools->reconfigure, same symptom.

What do I need to do so I can get the sizes afforded by extbook.cls?

Thanks,

SteveT
