Thanks, again, this is very kind of you, but there is not enough saving capacity available on my mail server. Apart from WWW download taking about 20 minutes by modem. So I would prefer you make the file available in tar.gz or zip format simply. In fact this is the first time I have come across a .tgz file at all. For the sake of cross-platform availability zip files should be used generally. I think this is important first of all to Windows users changing to Linux seeking help to work with LyX. tgz being a unix-linux format in the first place it is second-best choice for providing a Help file anyway.
