Yes, there are: the menu Insert->Special_Char->superscript
or M-i s s in the keyboard.
The superscript text will be the same size as normal text.

If you want the superscript text to be smaller, you can select
"use amsmath" button in the document dialog.
Alternatively, instead of the above, use 'ctrl-m ^ M-c r' to enter the
superscript.
