for latex \s is like a command, therefore you get an
error message. In LyX you can see it as a RED s, means
TeX command. I suppose you mean s_ and have a typo???
delete the s and write it again.
by the way, it looks a bit ugly when having uppercase
letters as indexes. try a \scriptscriptstyle (double
scripot is correct!) befor the G, looks nicer.
