did you try book (AMS) or book (Komascript)? on the other hand you can write \frontmatter, \mainmatter backmatter in tex (red). > It seems to me that standard "book class" is more "Thesis class?" no, it's the standard book class from latex. Herbert -- http://www.lyx.org/help/
