I had a stroll over the status and roadmap pages, and things has progressed a lot since I last had a look. Thats really great.
I have talked to a couple of my lecturers [Physics] and they seem to all use MikTeX and some syntax highlighting software - usually the MikTeX tool or emacs in Windows. I have mentioned LyX and they think its pretty cool, but are unwilling to do all the X server stuff which is of course where gui independance comes in. Will it be a goal of the lyx team to produce QT [as this seems most complete] Windows binary installers etc when that stuff is complete? Is there some ball park completion time? [An accuracy of 6 months or whatever is fine] I ask so I can better spread the word to people not using *NIX. As a poor student I can't do much more before exams... have fun, SteveC [EMAIL PROTECTED] fractalus.com/steve
