Hi all, My new Mandrake 8.2 installation came with LyX 1.1.6fix4. My spellchecker doesn't work. When I spellcheck I get this error message:
=============================== The ispell-process has died for some reason. *One* possible reason could be that you do not have a dictionary file for the language of this document installed. Check /usr/lib/ispell or set another dictionary in the Spellchecker Options menu. =============================== The ispell program works just fine at the command line with a text file. ispell -d english and ispell -d american work just fine. However, when I put the words english or american in my Edit->preferences->Lang opts->spell checker in the "Use alternative language" box, the symptom remains unchanged. Putting american.hash also does nothing. Putting americanmed also changes nothing. Changing the spell command from aspell to ispell has no effect. I could find nothing about this on the LyX website. How can I narrow this problem to the root cause?
