Hi I use Lyx a good bit, but I had not used the math formula stuff before. I just realized that attempting to insert a math formula from the Insert menu only puts a small purple box in the document but that I do not seem to have access to the pieces I had in prior versions. In the past clicking some place on the menus or on the buttons -- I forget which -- got me just what I'm looking for.
Perusal of the manuals included with Lyx suggest that there is a Math menu that provides a Math popup that makes these available. I have seen this before, but I am unable to see a Math menu item anywhere. My system has Lyx version 1.1.6 fix 3, distributed with Debian 3.0 (Woody), circa Nov 2001, system not on net yet.
