You must be joking ;-) I am currently working on a document that has about 75
images and is several hundred pages long. My whole point of keeping each image
box open before saving the file is that I want the images opened when I open
the document. That is not unreasonable, is it?

BTW, I just remembered why lyx will try to open all images (if they were saved
with the image box open) even if you are not scrolling down the document
yourself. Try doing a search from the beginning of a file for a word that
exists at the end of the file or not at all.
