I've just switched to debian from red hat, and still getting things set up the way i want them. i installed lyx from the deb, and the install went smoothly (of course). but i guess its a pretty minumal install. its still missing much of what i used to have in red hat. i get the following error when i try to preform a spell check.
The ispell-process has died for some reason. *One* possible reason could be that you do not have a dictionary file for the language of this document installed. Check /usr/lib/ispell or set another dictionary in the Spellchecker Options munu. so i look in the options thing, and its pointing to /usr/bin/ispell which i set. but which ispell points to /usr/bin/ispell. what else might this be?
