I very strongly disagree. LyX is much more simple to use, when it
is used as it (and LaTeX) was meant to be used -- just sit down
and write. However, when you try to change layout and even in
other ways to make Word out of LyX, than it _is_ hard. On the
hand it is much more simple than to go other way around -- to
make LyX out of the Word. I tried for three years every day
(being a lawyer I had to use Word) and when I could finally
decided I have just because of LyX switched to Linux (there was
no Cygwin-X in the time).
