Perhaps I didn't make my original question clear enough. The problem is not in the label, but the number reference for it.
The attached document is an example of this. In the header of the last page it reads:
1.1 Explanation of Table??
Instead I would like it to read:
1.1 Explanation of Table 1.1

The problem is due to the babel package. If your document is in English you can disable the use of babel in the document preferences dialog. Another option, is to use only upper case letters in the label for the figure.
