In LyX, Export -> PDF looks lousy on screen (though prints ok), unless
pslatex fonts are used (even then math/symbol fonts looks pixelised).
Export -> Postscript looks nice.

I'm with you on sending PDF, so what I do if I want to send a copy to
someone is to save a temporary version of the lyx document set up to use
pslatex fonts inst. of default. Then I export the temp. doc to pdf and
send that pdf.

I would prefer not to have to do this (because it's error-prone and
default latex looks better than pslatex), but I can't figure out how to
set up pdf & latex to play friendly. I am not alone with this problem. I
just submitted to Elsevier, and the pdf version of my paper they generated
looks just as crap as my pdf version.

This is a LATEX/TEX/PDF problem, not a LYX problem, though it'd be nice if
lyx took care of it instead of me :-)
