No, you should use quotes or backslash-space but not both. In linux, all these would work: My\ Home/Lyxfiles "My Home/Lyxfiles" "My Home"/Lyxfiles My" "Home/Lyxfiles (also single quotes inst. of double quotes work) BUT "My\ Home/Lyxfiles" will not work!
