I use the Prettyref option and that puts in the parantheses around the eqn. number when you reference an equation.. if you click on the reference inset, in "Format", hit "Formatted Reference" if you're using Qt or Pretty Reference (or PrettyRef, I don't remember), if you're using xforms.. nirmal
