OK that sounds logical for the first problem, with regards to the error that
lyx gives. However,
what about the problem that occurs (and I observe this too sometimes) of lyx
being unable
to subsequently view a pdf through acrobat. It claims that there is no pdf file!

Am I right to assume that when lyx starts subsequently, it creates a
new pdf file in the temp directory, when one clicks on view>pdf? I don't
understand
why this problem occurs.

This behaviour didn't used to occur in 1.2.3 or below? At least not that I ever
noticed.
I originally put it down to windows, bad weather, maybe my cygwin install. ;)
But everything
seems to work fine again after I reboot. I can try to track down this problem
when it occurs
again. What we have to go on is not much at present. But has anyone else
noticed this
behaviour?

Regards
Rob
