How about using pstoimg and converting the ps file to individual images for each slide.. then you can include any slide from the ps document at any point in your new document.. I've not tried this but don't see why it shouldn't work..

I may be being dumb but how is this going to work in lyx? It sounds like you are suggesting having a file per slide and circumventing lyx entirely for the output? What I need is a way to include a complete page in lyx (using prosper layout). It doesn't really matter to me whether it is a postscript page or bit mapped graphics. Have I missed something?
