Just to clarify, are you saying that you cannot convert to PDF (File | 
Export | PDF (pdflatex) does not work), or are you saying you can't *view* 
them in PDF (View | PDF (pdflatex) does not work)?  If it's the former, 
check Edit | Preferences | Converters | LaTeX -> PDF (pdflatex) and make 
sure the Converter: line contains pdflatex $$i, then make sure that 
pdflatex is installed in the MiKTeX ...\miktex\bin directory.  If it's the 
latter, check Edit | Preferences | File formats | PDF (pdflatex) and make 
sure that the Viewer: line contains the name of your preferred PDF reader 
program (I use acrord32).
