Aha! The light didn't come on until I received a message from Holger
Zebner. At the end of my book, in the References chapter is the grey,
"BibTeX Generated References". And, when I click on that, the dialog box
opens and offers me a cryptic list of styles.

I've tried the plainnat, abbrvnat and unsrtnat flavors without seeing any
difference in appearance in the displayed .dvi file. Do I need to do
anything other than make the change, close the dialog box and press ctrl-d?

As a matter of fact, no matter which of the numerous styles presented in
that drop-down list, the generated page appears the same to me. But, I think
I'm getting closer to understanding and getting the arrangement the
publisher wants.

Thanks,

Rich
