I run Lyx 1.3.4 Aqua on Mac OSX (panther) using a French keyboard. I have two questions, one about superscripts and the other about the math mode.

1- I click on the formula toolbar button and type E=mc^2. The display is: E=mc22 (the caret does not seem to be recognized).

2- Also, letters in math mode are shown in italics. How does one avoid this? For example, I want to type g m-2 d-1, with "g", "m" and "d" as normal text not in italics (and, of course, "-2" and "-1" are superscripts).

Thanks in advance for any help.
