Try to find out the problems, search a solution and report that on the
developers list. Even if you have no solution, a clear problem description
often helps a lot.

The reason for the suboptimal windows support is AFAIK that none of the lyx
developers does develop on windows, but if you come with a problem
description and a solution that fixes it this is in my experience always
welcome.
