LyX and LaTeX are completely new to me $ rpm -qa | grep latex tetex-latex-2.0.2-13 I think they are running on the PC. But I can't find relevant document about its operation. # latex latex_test.tex This is TeX, Version 3.14159 (Web2C 7.4.5) (./latex_test.tex LaTeX2e <2001/06/01> Babel <v3.7h> and hyphenation patterns for american, french, german, ngerman, n ohyphenation, loaded. ) * It hung here. An empty latex_test.log file created $ man latex ..... mentioning that the primary source of documentation for LaTeX is the LaTeX manual referenced below, and the local guide in the file local-guide.tex or local.tex or some such. $ man local-guide.tex No manual entry for local-guide.tex $ locate local-guide.tex $ locate local.tex $ locate local-guide all no printout.
