Mea culpa! It should be "page", as in \enlargethispage*{10pt}.
But, where do I put this? In the .tex file I see the line,
\tableofcontents{}
and in the .toc file are all the content lines with page numbers.
There does not seem to me to be an appropriate place to enter the
\enlargethispage*{} command. Is this not controllable, and a single line
page in the ToC acceptable?
