In the table float box I added this ERT immediately preceeding the caption:

More information. I can use \addtocontents{toc}{List of Symbols}
and that also adds the lable to the ToC. But, still no header or page number.
If I move the float from its position at the end of the Preface (after Acknowledgements) to immediately before the Acknowledgements, it's included in the Preface as far as running headers are concerned. The Acknowledgement section fills the bottom of that page and continues on the following page -- with header mark and page number.
I've looked on the Wiki, Herbert's Tips & Tricks page, TLC2, and Kopka and Daly's "Guide to LaTeX, 4th Edition". I'm completely out of clues.
To summarize, I'd like this float table (List of Symbols) to be at the end of the Preface, with a running header and page number, and also listed in the ToC with the appropriate page.
What commands have I overlooked?
TIA,
Rich
