You take a slower computer, and try to see how responsive it is to page up/down, selection, etc. I can tell you, unfortunately, that currently LyX/Qt 1.4.0cvs feels really sluggish compared to lyx/xfoms. But since we do not really know why, it is difficult to fix. JMarc
