Subject: No classes

Hi,

I've just done a fresh install of SuSE 10 beta 2, and -as others in this list,
running Linux, Mac or Windows- found no classes in Lyx 1.3.6. I then tried
SuSE 9.3 rpms from SuSE's ftp site: lyx 1.3.5, te_latex-3.0, and tetex-3.0,
keeping latex-ucs 20041017 from SuSE 10. Still, no classes! Output of
«linux:/usr/share/lyx # ./configure» is as follows:

checking for a Postscript interpreter... (gs)
+checking for "gs"... yes

checking for a Postscript previewer... (gsview32 gv ghostview)
+checking for "gsview32"... no
+checking for "gv"... no
+checking for "ghostview"... no

+Additionally, there is no "View DVI" or "View PDF". doc/LaTeXConfig.lyx gives
the list of missing packages.
Something is seriously wrong: what? Any help greatly appreciated.

SH: But there is a View Postscript? I think your install is too minimal
even if gs alone will view postscript. Using Edit-->Preferences and
establishing the full path to the viewer executable may solve the "No
Room with a View" problem since you have pdflatex and acroread
detected but seemingly not utilized. Is the directory structure the default?
I don't see how a typical install could omit so many packages.
