Stephen, the instructions you gave me worked fine. In "C:\texmf\tex\latex\cv"
I had got only the "CV.sty" file (why?). Then, I downloaded and copied the
cv.cls and it is ok now! Thanks a lot! :-)

I copied cv.cls to C:\texmf\tex\latex\cv
then ran Miktex Options: "Refresh Now"
which is the same as Linux, texconfig/rehash.
Then I opened LyX and ran reconfigure and
then closed it as directed. This eliminated
the error message I reported above with cv.lyx file
which is found in \Lyx\...Examples. I also noticed that
there is a cv.sty contained under C:\texmf\sub-dir and that
there is a cv.layout file under C:\LyX\resources\lyx\layouts.
