True, I should have mentioned this. We have opposite prefs. in this
regard. (I like to know what I've added to the system and I like to
have it backed up somewhere other than in my home dir.)

Normally, perhaps not, but... when you are working... on reproducing
personal correspondence... that is full of... ellipsi (?), then it...
becomes more important. :-(
BTW, my very own copy of the LaTeX Companion is on its way, across the
Channel, to me. :-) ("Höchste Zeit" some might say here!) ;-)
