It is supposed to do that, and it does so in almost all cases. There are several reports of failing conversions. Maybe you are seeing the same problem as in this report http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2235 ? Please file a new bug report with a minimal example file if your problem is something else and if it is reproducible. Georg
