Depends from where. Here I get 1Mb/s to ftp.devel.lyx.org and 6.9Mb/s to ftp.lyx.org :)
The wind must have been blowing from the east. I saw 14Kb/s uploads on my DSL line. Of course, uploads are slower than downloads because of the service constraints. However, I just let it go in one virtual terminal and continue with other work so the speed is never an issue for me. I neglected to modify the file name, but the Slackware .tgz is built with the Qt front end. Rich -- Richard B.
