That does not work form me ! This is what I have :

LyX uses several must have helper programs and during the install checks
to see that you have them. These programs get written to Path prefix in LyX
although your ghostscript program might be in a different directory.

C:\msys\1.0\bin;C:\Python24;C:\texmf\miktex\bin;C:\gs\gs8.51\bin;C:\ImageMagick

So did you start from scratch? Or did you already have a prior LyX installation,
which means you would already have these helper programs installed. You saw
LyX check for these programs during installation.

For instance if you have Cygwin installed and it is ahead of Msys in your
Windows PATH statement, a conflict can arise. If you have all those apps
installed which I mention above you could try putting them at the beginning
of your Windows Path statement (use Windows Help if you don't know how).
That means they will be "read" first, and your installation should go OK. If you
want spellchecking (C:\Aspell only) http://wiki.lyx.org/Windows/Aspell6 you
will need both to download and install both the data files and the dictionary.

These helper programs are installed before or during the LyX installation in
order for LyX to be aware of them. If you download one of the optional
programs later, you will have to run LyX->Tools->Reconfigure; otherwise
it is safer to run the LyX installation again if a key program was missing.

Paul's question is probably on target,
Stephen
