Hello, thanks for the quick reply. I have installed the windows package
lyx-142-1.exe available from http://wiki.lyx.org/Windows/Windows . That is the
one that is trying to uses the koma-script classes.
I tried looking at the documentation for koma-script and was not able to figure
out how to install it. It seemed kind of focused on helping unix users.
However, I was able to run
latex.exe komascr.ins
and it did generate a few .cls and .sty files. However, I don't know where to
put them and I think it may be more involved than just copying them somewhere.

I assume that you mean the german userguide that uses this document
class. To solve the problem open an internet connection and set the
option "install missing packages on the fly" in MiKTeX's options. The
reconfigure LyX and scrbook should be instaled. If you're not using
MiKTeX, install the LaTeX-package "koma-script" and run texhash after
that. Then also reconfigure LyX.

Indeed. We'll try to get rid of koma-script in the next release.
regards Uwe
