Robert, if experimentation causes too much effort I would just forget it. AFAIK it is quite possible that the switch from 1.3 to 1.4 caused the slowdown, so there would be nothing you can do anyway (except going back to 1.3 if speed is really that important). Maybe some developer could comment on that. -sven
