I'm confused here. Clipping and centering are two different things. Is
the problem that the displayed image shows the wrong portion of the
original image (clipping), or is the correct portion being displayed but
shifted to the left (centering). If the latter, try putting the cursor
next to the image and using the paragraph settings dialog to change the
horizontal placement to centered.
