yes, I did install everything from the same admin account. I also
tried re-installing aspell and run this configuration in LyX. o
success. I would reinstall LyX but I finish writing my PhD thesis first.

Are you on WinXP? Do you work in LyX as an administrator or a
non-administrator user?

new english words go in a file named en.pws, new italian words go in
it.pws etc. For me these files are in "documents and settings\all
users\application data\aspell\personal"
The point is that you need the rights to change the folder where such
files reside.
