First, do you still have the Beamer LaTeX package installed?
Of course, beamer package is installed...
If you run 'kpsewhich beamer.cls', is it found? Does
kpsewhich find xcolor.sty and pgf.sty?
I can't neither find the beamer.cls-file nor the xcolor.sty or the
pgf.sty-file...
Then it's no longer installed.
Assuming Beamer is installed, do you have beamer.layout in
one of the LyX layout directories?
Yes, beamer.layout is in the Ressources/layouts - directory...
So LyX should recognize Beamer after a reconfigure *if* it can find
beamer.cls (which, apparently, it cannot, since kpsewhich cannot find it).
I don't recall any problem with Beamer when I upgraded from
1.4.3 to 1.4.4, other than that I think I might have had to
copy beamer.layout from the old installation to the new one.
I think it might has to do something with the folder "latex" in the
Lyx-directory... In the old installation - version
(LyXWin143Complete-2-9.exe) all the beamerthemes etc. are copied in this
directory. With the new installation it doesn't copy any latex-folder in the
Lyx-directory. You know why?
No, but then I never used Uwe's "complete" installers, since I already
had all the supporting programs installed.
In any event, I assume that you are using MikTeX? If so, just run the
MikTeX package manager ("Browse Packages" in version 2.6) from the Start
menu, and use it to install Beamer. You'll need an Internet connection,
and you may have to pick a repository (Repository -> Change package
repository) if you have not already set one up. Then just highlight
"beamer" in the package list and click the + button. After MikTeX is
done installing Beamer, run Tools -> Reconfigure in LyX and restart LyX.
