What worked for me was deleting the C:\Documents and
Settings\v_boston\Application Data\lyx15 folder, rebooting (for good measure
-- this is Windows, after all), and I was able to run LyX again.
Yes, the problem is caused by a configuration failure's leaving some bad
files around.
We believe this problem is solved for 1.5.2, due out early next week.
