Yes there is. We used the splash screen image also for banners on lyx.org in the past, so I mixed
both words.
We should call our mascot "Lydia".
I'm not against it, but I'm curious about the reasoning.
We need more female users, as the developers are only male, we should at least have a femal mascot
;-). I simply like the name that was first proposed in bug 135.
And also why it's a platypus to begin with!
Ask Lars Gullik Bjonnes, Matthias Ettrich, or Jean-Marc Lasgouttes. The platypus image we have as
example in the docs looks astoundingly like one of the animals on the cover of O'Reilly books.
