I do like the new features and would love to continue working with 1.60cr2 if there are some workarounds. If there is a way to map ctrl-B back to \mathbf{} instead of \boldsymbol{} it would do it for me.

There seems motivation to do this. But we have to figure out exactly how.

As for the export files bug, so far I have discovered that the export function sends the files to a subdirectory in the temp folder. I haven't tried the workaround you mentioned here, though I'm not sure if I completely understand what you are saying.

This is a bug connected with the preferences file, which you'll find in your local LyX directory. Do Tools>Preferences, and then hit OK or Save or whatever. That should do it.

As for the keymapping issue. I see that one can map keys to lyx commands, one of which is something like font-bold. However how do you change the behavior of the lyx command?
You can't really do that. You can just change which command it gets mapped to. But try this. Map Ctrl-Shift-B to "math-insert \mathbf". It won't toggle, but it doesn't really need to in math. You can just hit spacebar when you are done with bold, and that will take you out of bold.

I suspect there is a way to make ctrl-B toggle like it used to, but I'm not sure how.
This is a problem in the source code somewhere.
