i fear this is more problematic case than qt4 things, the error logs indicated
that also X window libraries are missing.
I'd guess that the problem is that the header files are missing. He was
compiling on Knoppix, which is of course a live CD, and I don't know
what package management is available there. So getting the headers may
be somewhat difficult.
