That said, your girlfriend really should use a BibTeX editor. I can't
myself get this working without doing it that way. Download JabRef for her.
It's /very/ easy to use.


I'll try but I believe that won't do what she needs.... I mean, putting some
kind of note next to words here and there and see the corresponding
bibliography entry at the end of the book / chapter...

You underestimate the power and magic of LateX and LyX. ;)

What Richard wrote you, will exactly give you what you want. This is not an uncommon need at all.
